Hello and welcome to STRATA Communications & Media. My name is Cheryl Lynn and I’m a freelance writer, artist and designer.
    
My primary niche is Creative Writing which includes Poetry, Prose, Short Stories, Essays, Novels and most recently, Script writing. I also write press releases, business introduction letters and I conduct interviews for publication.

I am a visual artist, published poet and writer.  My poems, essays, and letters have been featured in numerous anthologies and newspapers including but not limited to, Adam of Ife, Black Women in Praise of Black Men (Lotus Press), Inner Visions of the People; A Poetry Anthology (Detroit Black Writers Guild), the Michigan Chronicle, the Michigan Citizen, and the Detroit Free Press.  Most recently, I designed a book cover for an international children's publication, "Raising Youth Awareness for MDG's, Shirley Ann Sullivan Educational Foundation.", under the projects tab.

My Professional Background/Credentials

• Taught art classes for Young Artists, Inc. and New Initiatives for the Arts (NIFTA), sponsored by the Black Caucus.
• Facilitated numerous art shows at various metro-Detroit art galleries, including but not limited to the Swan Gallery, Galeria Biegas (Detroit), National Conference of Artists (Michigan Chapter), and University of Michigan Center for African and Afro-American Studies (Ann Arbor, MI).
• First Children’s book,The Elephant Ball, is currently being considered for publication.

I have been writing creatively and professionally for over 20 years, both for personal projects and in my professional employment.  I also have experience as a proofreader, an editor, and have conducted numerous interviews with members of the fashion and design industries. My visual art has been exhibited in various parts of the state of the country.
